The Fair and
Accurate Credit
Transactions Act
was enacted in
2003 to ensure
every consumer
has the right to
receive a free
copy of each credit
file once a year
from the three
major credit
reporting
agencies
(Equifax,
Experian and
TransUnion).
There are three
options
available to
request a copy
of your free credit
report. Each one
has been outlined below
for your
convenience.
Note:
This section is
for consumer use
only and cannot
be used to
obtain applicant
credit reports.
If you need to
screen an
applicant, you
must have a
tenant screening
or employee
screening
account and use
the client login
section of our
website.
Online
There is only one
official website for
obtaining your free
annual credit report
(provided below). Be
careful not to be fooled
by those claiming to
offer a free report when
you actually have to pay
a fee to subscribe to a
monitoring service.
The following is an
official toll-free
number you can call 24
hours a day to request
your free copy.
1-877-322-8228
By mail
To request a copy of
your credit report by
mail, you must print and
complete the Annual
Credit Report Request
Form contained in the
FTC Facts for Consumers
brochure provided below.
